Visualize Muscle Activation with 2.0 LED Shield - Power The Myoware 2.0 Muscle Sensor with Snap Connectors

The MyoWare 2.0 LED Shield is designed to display the magnitude of a target muscle's signal and power the MyoWare 2.0 Muscle Sensor with its built-in battery. The innovative connector system allows users to easily snap shields together with a compact low profile and connect to a microcontroller's analog input to measure raw, filtered, and rectified electrical activity of a target muscle, eliminating the need to solder connections between boards.

Using our muscles to control things is the way that most of us are accustomed to doing it. We push buttons, pull levers, move joysticks... but what if we could take the buttons, levers, and joysticks out of the equation and control it with our muscles? The MyoWare 2.0 ecosystem consists of shields that easily interface with the MyoWare 2.0 Muscle Sensor, which is a low-cost, Arduino-compatible, all-in-one electromyography (EMG) sensor from Advancer Technologies.

The blue 10-segment bar graph on the LED shield shows the magnitude of the measured signal. The more muscle activation measured, the higher up the board LEDs will go! With this shield, you will be provided with a visual representation of the signals provided by the MyoWare 2.0 Muscle Sensor.

The LED shield is equipped with snap connectors on the board, allowing you to easily stack it on the top side of the MyoWare 2.0 Muscle Sensor and flip the switch to the ON position to give the sensor all the power it needs to work its myoelectric magic.

Each board comes with a 40mAh single cell, lithium polymer (LiPo) battery soldered to the board. Recharge the battery through the USB Type C connector and its dedicated LiPo charging circuit set to a charge rate of 40mA. This board also includes status LEDs for charging (CHG, FULL, and power (VIN)). Connecting the MyoWare 2.0 Muscle Sensor to battery power allows for a cleaner signal while also eliminating the possibility of creating a dangerous current path to the power grid.
